Sweet dreams

Sweet words woven fine
Nifty weft and warp of it
Divine
Your photograph
held up to my cheek
Mouthed whispered words of bliss
Remembered.

But you were not
able to keep your face
Straight.
The cleft chin
Sweet devilish dimples
Twinkling eyes
Sparkled merriment
Messaging its derision at
My naiveté
Bewildered.

Guile weaves intricately
the tapestry of intrigue.
Baffling gullibility.

Stand back to the wall
And watch
Sunlight fall into its
Bewitching hazel green
Now ochre now chrome.

I'm flown upon its magic carpet
Over blue basins
Bottomless lessons
To be learnt
And now it
Shimmers green.

Envy is frightening.
Delusions cause
Paralysis
A slow stiffening
Sickening stuffiness in
the full woven fabrication
Of an emperor's new clothes.

More rigid than
Rigor mortis.

Finally naked truth
Stands up
with straight faced
Derision.

Devolved from
Duplicity.
Psychopathic tendencies
To maintain my illusions
Makes a murderer
Out of me.

Killing the truth of you
Birthing the lie of me
Making a marriage
Out of this
Mental asylum,
Wilful duplicity.

I want you to know that I care
That I wish to let you go
In peace.
...but wishful thinking snaps open
A pandora's box of intrigues
Chuckles of derision...
Demons
Crackling knuckles.
Chicken hearted submission
to slaughter house
Of longing.

Take care...unravel every string
take apart at the seams
Designated dreams.

What may come
Through
Could be
A singular ray
Of sunlight.
